PRINCIPAL’S REPORT – 08th  December 07

As we look at the orange glow
The golden rim of the Sun dips
Down the Aravallis
Silhouettes of sand dunes
Whisper pause and think
On Browns and Yellows
As you walk one and forty years after
Into the green Moulserries
BPS envelopes you with a warm smile

Humility is the hallmark of greatness for arrogance and hatred are the wares peddled in the thoroughfares. A rare virtue is this humility amply expressed in the very core of your personality and deeds. For life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties ,but a chain of accomplishments, of targets achieved of little things in which smiles kindness and small obligations are sprinkled generously –these , then  habitually are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort- that is what you are.

As always said “The three really great things are “The Mountain’ The Ocean’ and an “Earnest –Man’ at his work. The potentialities of each are beyond human calculations and therefore what I endeavour to encapsulate here will inevitably sound inadequate. We are privileged and greatly honoured to have in our midst such a versatile personality as Brig D.C. Katoch, an alumnus of Birla Public School Pilani,1966 batch Katyayan House.

His chequered career spanning  36  years has seen him command troops in active operations in Counter Insurgency, Line of Control, High Altitude and other Aggressive Theaters.

Brig D. C.  Katoch is a highly decorated officer. He has been awarded 18 medals including the prestigious Vishist Seva Medal (VSM)  in recognition  for his  distinguished services in Insurgency Operations  in  Jammu and Kashmir Op Rakshak and Op Vijay to topit.  An effective communicator, an out of the box thinker with; the ability to come up with; new ideas. His outstanding contribution as a Golpher, Rider, Polo Player, Social Service in Education and Health care has been tremendous.  The Brigadier’s wife  Asha Katoch is leading  Anesthesiologist who is working in Chandigarh and also deeply involved in NGO work.Their son is working in USA as Director Web Designing and Information Technology.  Their Daughter Meghna is an MBA working in Chandigarh .
I on  behalf of BPS fraternity wish the entire family good health and good cheer.

The presence of the `Alumni’ is always a source of inspiration and joy. It is indeed a momentous occasion to receive so many of you, who have travelled a long distance to be here this evening.  The Prize Giving is unique because it not only shows cases the achievement of the students but also renews old ties of friendship and fosters new ones.
