MOCK PARLIAMENT

The boys of class IX of middle section presented a mock parliament session today. This was conducted by the social science department.
Parliament is one of the major pillars of our democratic system. The students as future leaders and citizens must be made aware of the working of the parliament to initiate, develop, cultivate and nurture the ideals of our democratic institutions. The mock parliament was just the right exercise.
The mock parliament session was divided into two parts. The first one took the question hour. In this session members raised various questions on burning issues from grafting charges in the commonwealth games to the mega corruption in the allotment of 2G spectrum, from onion to potato prices. Issues were deliberated and answers were sought. Sloganeering disruptions, catchy remarks, past practices, allegations were also made. (All made a field day for the participants and the spectators.)
In the second phase No- confidence motion was tabled. The bill was presented by the leaders of the opposition.
Earlier in the program me Mr. A. B. Sati, the headmaster welcomed the chief guest and the guests. The principal Mr. Alokesh Sen congratulated the boys for their brilliant performance. Spectators from BSP and BBVP attended the function.
